Robert – no argument from me. But F# is the first functional language for .net, and a lot of .net folks don’t necessarily have exposure to functional languages. I think having a functional language that’s interoperable with mainstream applications is a huge deal, but it’ll die if non-functional folks don’t see a reason to switch, or pick up… and that’s a slow process for a hard-set oo mentality.

I don’t want to be like a wet blanket, but most of this is commonplace with functional languages, except perhaps the .NET libraries access.
